Carsons Hair Gel

Since we've been styling Carson's hair with gel, every time he eats yogurt he thinks it's gel so he rubs it on his head as if he were styling his own hair. Very Cute!

Food storage

Our ward has been sending home paper bracelets with the primary children telling us what we need to get for our food storage that month. On Sunday Christa came home from church and told me that we need to get wheat and marshmallows for our food storage. I asked her if she was sure it was wheat and marshmallows and with that cute grin she said "I think so," then Kaylei said I think she means "wheat and yeast." Christa said "Oh yeah, wheat and yeast."

Baby Layla

Sept. 9, 2008 we added a new addition to our clan, Layla Grace. Christian and I went to the hospital at 7:00 in the morning. At 9:45 a.m. I was given the epidural and the the nurse started the pitosine at the same time. 2 hours later at 11:50 a.m. Layla was born. She weighed 6lbs. 14 oz. and was 18 inches long. It always amazes me what a miracle having a baby is, one minute they are in your stomach and the next your holding this sweet, beautiful baby. It also amazed me how much you can love someone only meeting them a few seconds before.

We brought her home on Sept. 11, and she has been sleeping through the night since. I will put her to bed around 10:00 p.m. and she will sleep until around 7:30 a.m. I cannot explain in words how much I love her.

My Sweet Kaylei

Today I woke up to breakfast in bed. Kaylei knew I was going to the doctor today in hopes of getting labor started. So she woke up at 4:45 a.m. and made me breakfast in bed. She had made a beautiful arrangement of toast and oranges on a plate with a candle in the middle and a goblet of apple juice. It was so sweet. Who could ask for a better daughter!!!

Christa's first week of school

Christa started school this week and LOVES it!! She loves setting her clothes out like her big sisters. She had laid out outfits all across her floor for the first week of school. I told her it might be easier to keep her room clean if she just sets out clothes for the next day. She rode the bus for the first time and had a perma grin the whole time she was getting on. It was nice to have Mikayla Mount, Paige's friend, on the bus with her. Mikayla has taken Christa under her wing and has been very sweet taking care of her. Kaylei, Lexi, and Paige all ride the bus home with her. I was joking with my mom and bet her $5 that Christa had fallen asleep on the bus and Kaylei was trying to carry her off the bus and to the car. When they unloaded the bus sure enough Kaylei was half holding Christa because she had fallen asleep. I love how sweet Kaylei is with her siblings, she truly takes such good care of them.

Soccer

The girls had their first soccer games last Saturday. It was great to see them play. Christian is coaching Kaylei's team, Kaylei is an incredible goalie. Lexi played and did awesome, she has the nickname "Green Machine," she loves being on her friends team. Paige is one of the better players, she is pretty aggressive and had two break away goals. I love watching her play, she is constantly smiling, and of course Paige with her sugar addictions, on the way to the game she always has the same question "I wonder what the treat will be today." We were a little nervous about Christa, with this being her first year, but she did awesome. She wasn't afraid to take the ball from the other team or her own team, she made the first two goals.

First Day of School

Today was the girls first day of school. They have been so excited. Paige is starting 1st grade, she is going to skip kindergarten, she seems to have a great teacher Ms. Lefler. Lexi is starting 3rd grade she has Ms. Easley and Kaylei is starting 5th grade and she has Mr. Millwood. Kaylei was very nervous about what teacher she would get. When she came home from school today she said "I have the best teacher ever." Which makes me laugh because every year she tells me she has the best teacher. Kaylei really has lucked out in getting fabulous teachers. Christa will start preschool next Tuesday, she was a little sad that she did not start today, but excited that it is coming soon.
